March 17, 2025

The City of Fredericksburg is excited to announce the launch of its Public Tree Inventory & Management Program, a new online platform designed to provide residents with comprehensive information about the City’s urban forest. This initiative is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and tree preservation.

Powered by ESRI GIS software, the Public Tree Inventory (named Tree Viewer) offers an interactive database that allows residents to:
• View City-maintained trees on an interactive map.
• Identify available planting locations for future tree growth.
• Access detailed tree data, including species, size, and maintenance history.
• Report concerns about trees for City review and response.
• Learn about urban forestry efforts through educational resources.
This program expands Fredericksburg’s Tree Inventory, which includes over 190 species and 13,000 trees. Originally for internal use, the database will now provide public access, encouraging community involvement in tree care. Residents can submit service requests through the City’s Urban Forestry website, improving efficiency and response times for tree-related issues.
The Public Tree Inventory & Management Program is now available online at https://tree-management-fredericksburg.hub.arcgis.com.
